The agriculture industry relies on transportation.

It is utilized in every aspect of food production from planting to harvest to final product distribution. A shortage in transportation strains the supply chain and can lead to empty grocery store shelves.

“My job is to make sure my research is highly applied,” Dr. Yi Wang, an Agriculture Researcher and Associate Professor at University of Wisconsin-Madison, said.

Wang’s role as an Agricultural Researcher is composed of three parts: teaching, researching and extension services.

Farmers and processors have been voluntarily implementing sustainable agriculture practices for decades.

“Sustainability is definitely a buzzword today, but farmers have been sustainability trailblazers from the very beginning,” Rachel Gerbitz, Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Director of Sustainability Communications and Partnerships, said. “It’s always been a concern for Wisconsin farmers.”

Meet Soil Conservationist Derek Husmoen.

“I have always been interested in soil and water conservation from a young age,” he said. “I guess in high school, I knew I wanted to stay in the agriculture field, and I have always liked soil and water conservation, so I just kind of stuck with it. That’s how I got into it.”

Education is the primary pillar on which Farming for the Future Foundation was established.

FFTFF exists to educate current and future generations about agricultural innovation and sustainability. The importance of agriculture cannot be overstated.

Farming for the Future Foundation joins a growing population of organizations utilizing TikTok.

Nearly 8 billion people exist on the planet today, each with an innate desire to be fed.

Equipment contributing to food production would be impossible without the manufacturing specialists working behind the scenes.

Agriculture pulses through Paul Palmby’s veins.

The opportunities he has been given in the industry have kept him interested and engaged in agriculture, he said.

“I have never really had a desire or reason to leave agriculture or food business,” Palmby said. “It really is all I know.”
