Summer 2025 Outreach

New activities for summer!

Agricultural education brought to the classroom

If you’re looking for educational activities for summer school, we have new outreach options! Our education team will come to your classroom to teach one of these hands-on lessons. These are a great complement to your curriculum and a great way to engage students!

  • Outreach visits are free of charge within 45 miles of Plover, WI

  • Programs are 45 minutes

  • All options are hands-on, engaging, and immersive lessons

Agricultural Commodities Breakout Box

A breakout box is an activity in which students work together and think critically to solve a series of clues to obtain the combination to open a locked box. We’ll learn about crops grown in Wisconsin by finding clues hidden around the room and interpreting them to unlock this breakout box with a secret inside. Designed for students 1st-4th grade.

Bouncy Science

In this hands-on lesson, students will learn about polymers and their importance to everyday life and agriculture. Students will make their very own bouncy balls while testing several recipes to see which one is bouncier. Then students will compare their bouncy balls with store-bought balls to determine which works best. Designed for students 3rd-6th grade.

Exploding Art: Chemical reactions

In this lesson, students will learn about physical and chemical reactions and take part in a demonstration of chemical reactions. We’ll add paint and Alka-Seltzer to film canisters to see the reactions that occur in a fun and exciting way while making art at the same time. Designed for students 5th-6th grade.

Lift off with Rockets

Students will learn about how different forces affect an object’s path of motion. In this lesson, students will build paper rockets to launch at different forces and different angles and will be introduced to Newton’s Laws of Motion. Designed for students 4th-6th grade.

Plants we eat

Knowing what’s edible is not always inherent knowledge! This lesson goes over the parts of the plant and each of their functions. We’ll discuss the different parts of different fruits and vegetables and which we eat. Designed for students 1st-3rd grade.

Science of Bubbles

Learn all about the science of bubbles in this fun, hands-on lesson. Students will learn about surface tension and why bubbles are always round as they experiment with different solutions to make bubbles and see which bubbles are the most durable. Designed for students 1st-6th grade.
