Week-long programs in June, July and August
Come explore the world of weather, cultural cooking and predictable plants!
Your children are invited to enjoy some extra fun this summer with these unique mini-camp experiences. Each day we’ll dig into something new, get hands-on in a variety of activities, enjoy open exploration of everything Food + Farm Exploration Center has to offer, and savor a snack together. Access to stay and play for the day is included, plus exclusive access on Mondays when we’re closed to the public!
Weather wizards
Explore the fascinating world of weather with us! We’ll uncover the mystery of weather patterns, instruments, and phenomena through interactive lessons, experiments, and hands-on activities. Become a weather wizard that understands how rain, snow, wind and drought impact the food we grow and eat.
When: June 16-20 from 9:00-11:30am
Who: 2nd-5th Grade
Cost: $110 per participant (Members save 10%)

cultural cooking
Take a trip around the world in just five days! Grab your passport to experience breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, and beverages from every continent. Students will leave with newfound confidence in the kitchen and enjoy crafting their own dishes in the Kitchen Lab. Enjoy an amazing menu of culinary creations! This program has two sessions designed for different age groups.
When: July 7-11 from 9:00-11:30am
Who: 2nd-5th Grade
Cost: $125 per participant (Members save 10%)

When: July 21-25 from 9:00-11:30am
Who: 6th-8th Grade
Cost: $125 per participant (Members save 10%)

Ready, set, grow!
Unearth the secrets of the plant world. We’ll get our hands dirty diving into soil and learning how plants grow. In this immersive program, we’ll make art with natural materials, become farmers in our demonstration fields, and even create snacks using produce we’ll harvest ourselves! Don’t miss this unique chance to see how the food we love goes from field to fork.
When: August 18-22 from 9:00-11:30am
Who: 3rd-6th Grade
Cost: $110 per participant (Members save 10%)

Program Details
Parent and guardian supervision is not required and they do not need to remain on-site. You’re welcome to enjoy the public spaces in the center. We recommend enjoying something at Colorful Plate Café!
Daily snack included. We’ll collect allergy restrictions from students after enrollment.
Dress appropriately for the weather and activities. We’ll be spending time outdoors, experimenting, and creating so please dress accordingly. For example, bring a hat if you’re attending “Ready, Set, Grow!” as we’ll be exploring the demonstration fields and don’t wear your fanciest clothes to “Cultural Cooking” as we may be getting messy in the Kitchen Lab. We’ll have aprons available.
General admission to exhibits included for students enrolled. Parents and guardians who want to stay and explore the exhibits during or after class will need to purchase a ticket.
All materials will be provided.
Drop-off and pick-up will need to be arranged within 15 minutes of session start and end.

We are open our normal hours for summer. Please add Colorful Plate Café to your “must visit list” for something delicious and locally sourced for breakfast or lunch! Some helpful tips:
We’re closed on Mondays
We’re open late on Thursdays until 7pm
Please be sure you purchase tickets in advance for general admission for anyone not attending summer camps who wants to explore the exhibits
Colorful Plate Café hours are different from the exploration center. See their menu and hours. No ticket required to visit the café!
