Soil on the Run!

In this activity, students will find examples of erosion and erosion prevention techniques in their neighborhood and think about ways that farmers could do some of those same practices to protect their soil. Students will understand that erosion is a process that moves the soil from one place to another using water or wind. They will also learn that farmers use various methods such as windbreaks, terraces, and cover crops to prevent erosion of valuable soil from their farms.
