A Window Into Roots
In this activity, students grow different types of seeds in an inexpensive root viewer. They will observe and compare the forms of root growth, ask questions, and draw a model that describes the structure and function of root systems. This activity is meant to spark curiosity and generate scientific questions about the form and function of roots.
