Food + Farm Exploration Center (F+FEC), in partnership with Farming for the Future Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating current and future generations about agricultural innovation and sustainability. Located in Plover, Wisconsin, F+FEC aims to deepen the understanding of modern agriculture, promote agricultural literacy, and foster connections between farmers and consumers. Position Overview
The Food + Farm Exploration Center is seeking a part-time event attendant to join our expanding team of event professionals. The event attendant role is instrumental in the successful execution of the meetings and events booked at our facility. An enthusiastic attitude and attention to detail ensures a positive experience for our guests, with events ranging from 5 to 500 guests. We are looking for a candidate who can follow instructions, meet the physical demands of events, and have the flexibility to work nights and weekends. While the primary duties involve serving and bartending during events, an event attendant will also assist with set-up and tear-down of event spaces.
Essential Responsibilities
Assist with event setup, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and décor as needed.
Clean up after events, ensuring the venue is left in excellent condition.
Assist with post-event breakdown, including packing away equipment and inventory.
Serve food and beverages, ensuring orders are accurate and meet guest preferences.
Clear tables and remove used dishes and glassware, when necessary, throughout the event.
Ensure all serving stations and tables are set up properly and restocked as needed.
Assist with beverage service, including serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Adhere to venue policies regarding alcohol service.
Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues with a helpful and positive attitude.
Ensure guest satisfaction by providing prompt and efficient service.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.
Work collaboratively with other staff and departments to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Qualifications & Experience
Strong multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent oral communication and customer service skills.
Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, including safe handling practices.
Completion of Wisconsin Alcohol Seller/Server Course and bartending license for the Village of Plover is required. F+FEC to cover the cost of any training, exams, and licensing.
Must be 18+ years old.
Physical Demands
Able to stand and sit for long periods of time.
Physical requirements include but are not limited to stooping, kneeling, bending, standing, squatting/crouching, crawling/kneeling, pushing/pulling, climbing (ladders), reaching above the shoulders, lifting of up to 50lbs.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
