Organization Overview

Food + Farm Exploration Center (F+FEC), in partnership with Farming for the Future Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating current and future generations about agricultural innovation and sustainability. Located in Plover, Wisconsin, F+FEC aims to deepen the understanding of modern agriculture, promote agricultural literacy, and foster connections between farmers and consumers. By creating a space for learning and engagement, F+FEC provides an opportunity for people to explore the world of agriculture and better understand the origins of their food.

Position Overview

The Colorful Plate Café at F+FEC is looking for enthusiastic part-time Café Staff to join our team! In this role, you'll bring creativity and warmth to the customer experience, using unique café strategies to build meaningful relationships with both guests and staff—always rooted in authenticity.

As a member of the café team, you’ll report directly to the Café Manager and play a key role in creating a welcoming, fast-paced environment where excellent customer service is the top priority. If you thrive in a dynamic setting and love connecting with people, we’d love to hear from you!

Essential Responsibilities

  • ​​Greet customers, answer questions and make recommendations. 

  • ​Prepare specialty coffee drinks, tea, and cocktails. 

  • ​Prepare food including breakfast, lunch, and pastries. 

  • ​Efficiently use a Point-of-Sale system to take orders and process payments. 

  • ​Keep the work area and dining room clean and sanitized. 

  • ​Follow health and safety guidelines and operational procedures.​ 

Qualifications & Experience

  • ​​1-3 years’ experience in restaurant and/or hospitality service industry. 

  • ​Experience in food safety and planning. 

  • ​Possess or be willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handlers certificate. 

  • ​Possess or be willing to obtain a bartending license. 

  • ​Must have good communication skills for dealing with diverse customers. 

  • ​Have the ability to multitask. 

  • ​A flexible schedule and availability including weekends. ​ 

Physical Demands

  • Able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

  • Physical requirements include but are not limited to stooping, kneeling, bending, standing, squatting/crouching, crawling/kneeling, pushing/pulling, climbing (ladders), reaching above the shoulders, lifting of up to 50lbs.
