Meet the Team: Brittany Marquard

Brittany Marquard joined the Food + Farm Exploration Center team as the Education Program Manager.

Marquard’s role will be to develop and implement programs that enhance the immersive exhibits within the Food + Farm Exploration Center by engaging visitors at every level.

She is most excited to “continue building relationships with individuals involved in the production of food supply.”

“People will always need food and how we meet that demand will continue to be on the forefront of agriculture,” she said.

Marquard joins the team with more than 13 years of experience in agricultural education in Wisconsin. Notably, she earned 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year for Mosinee High School, she was the recipient of the 2013 Wisconsin Teacher Turn the Key award, and she currently serves as the Section 7 Vice President of the Wisconsin Association of Agricultural Educators.

Additionally, she was a dual credit instructor with Northcentral Technical College, offering Intro to Animal Science and Intro to Soil Science for collegiate credit at the high school level.

“One of my greatest accomplishments as an educator is seeing former students pursue careers related to agriculture, in an array of settings from agricultural education to agronomy to veterinary medicine and animal nutrition,” she said.

Marquard earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education with a minor in Biology from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls.

Brittany’s love of agricultural education was cultivated during high school, where she participated in her FFA program. She served as a chapter officer for 3 years while participating in FFA.

“I loved the dynamic of an agricultural education classroom,” Marquard said. “Somedays it was in-class learning, others you were outside in the school forest for field, greenhouse, ag mechanics shop or on an agricultural tour. I was drawn to the learning to do mentality, a concept I incorporated into my own classrooms over the years where I provided students with real-life exposure to agriculture. I’m excited to take this style of learning and apply it to programs and experiences hosted at the Food + Farm Exploration Center.”

In her free time, Marquard enjoys snowmobiling, running, working out, being outdoors, gardening, working on her home’s landscaping, hunting and fishing. Marquard credits her love of the outdoors to her parents, and she enjoys sharing that passion with her husband and son. She also loves to travel and plans to visit all 50 states by the time she turns 50.
