2025 Summer School Program Descriptions

  • Bouncy Science- In this hands-on lesson students will learn about polymers and their importance to everyday life and to agriculture. Students will make their very own bouncy balls while testing several recipes to see which one is bouncier. Then students will compare their bouncy balls with store-bought balls to determine which work best. (3rd-6th grade)

  • Lift Off with Rockets- Students will learn about how different forces affect an object’s path of motion. In this lesson students will build paper rockets to launch at different forces and different angles and will be introduced to Newton’s Laws of Motion. (4th-6th grade)

  • Exploding Art: Chemical Reactions- In this lesson students will learn about physical and chemical reactions and take part in demonstration of chemical reactions in which film canisters have paint and Alka-Seltzer added to them and students can see reactions occur in a fun and exciting way while making art at the same time.  (5th-6th grade)

  • The Science of Bubbles- Learn all about the science of bubbles in this fun, hands-on lesson. Students will learn about surface tension and why bubbles are always round as they experiment with different solutions to make bubbles and see which bubbles are the most durable.  (1-6th grade)

  • Plants We Eat- This lesson goes over the parts of the plant and discusses the how we eat the different parts when we eat different fruits and vegetables. (1-3rd grade)

  • Agricultural Commodities Breakout Box- In this engaging activity, we will learn about crops grown in Wisconsin by finding clues hidden around the room and interpret them to unlock a box with a secret inside. (1-4th grade)
