2026 Women in Agriculture Nominations
Rooted in Gratitude
Help Us Celebrate the Women Advancing Wisconsin Agriculture
As part of our Rooted in Gratitude fundraiser, Food + Farm Exploration Center will recognize exceptional Women in Agriculture whose leadership, innovation, and dedication strengthen Wisconsin crop systems.
Nominations are open through May 31, 2026.
Why This Recognition Matters
In alignment with the United Nations’ designation of 2026 as the International Year of the Woman Farmer, this year’s theme elevates the women shaping agriculture locally while connecting to a broader global recognition.
By sharing these stories, we are highlighting the vital role women play in the economic survival of our communities and the transition to more sustainable, resilient food systems. This recognition addresses the historical gap in visibility for women farmers, ensuring their leadership and contributions to Wisconsin’s crop landscape are finally brought to the forefront.
Who can be Nominated?
We are looking for the leaders, innovators, and essential contributors who drive our food system forward. From multi-generational growers to the scientists and educators who support them, nominees must have a clear connection to Wisconsin agriculture and work in:
Farming or crop production
Agricultural research
Education and outreach
Processing and agribusiness
Agricultural support roles
Nominees do not need to own a farm or business.
2026 Focus: Crop Agriculture
The 2026 recognition highlights women working in Wisconsin-grown crop systems aligned with Food + Farm Exploration Center’s exhibits and educational programming.
Eligible crops include: apples, cabbage, canning beets, carrots, cherries, cranberries, cucumbers or pickles, ginseng, green beans, kidney beans, lavender, lima beans, mint, onions, peas, potatoes, pumpkins, soybeans, sweet corn, or zucchini.
