Organization Overview

Food + Farm Exploration Center (F+FEC), in partnership with Farming for the Future Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating current and future generations about agricultural innovation and sustainability. Located in Plover, Wisconsin, F+FEC aims to deepen the understanding of modern agriculture, promote agricultural literacy, and foster connections between farmers and consumers. By creating a space for learning and engagement, F+FEC provides an opportunity for people to explore the world of agriculture and better understand the origins of their food.

Position Overview

​​The Office Assistant supports efficient daily operations by managing administrative tasks, coordinating internal communication, maintaining documentation systems, and supporting organizational departments. Reporting to the Executive Office Manager, this position ensures alignment of administrative resources with strategic and operational needs.​

Essential Responsibilities

  • ​​Manage incoming communication by monitoring shared inboxes, responding to inquiries, and routing messages to appropriate team members. 

  • ​Maintain administrative systems, including physical and digital filing, templates, internal resources, training materials, and shared team folders. 

  • ​Update and organize internal policies related to visitors, operations, and HR to ensure accessibility and compliance. 

  • ​Coordinate weekly cross-departmental updates of all meetings and calendars. 

  • ​Manage office operations, including maintaining supplies for all workspaces and ensuring office equipment is functional and supported. 

  • ​Provide administrative support for development and donor relations, including data entry, correspondence, and acknowledgment materials. 

  • ​Support programming and outreach through community calendar postings and invoice follow-up. 

  • ​Support financial operations, including weekly banking and coordinating reimbursements and stipends. 

  • ​Support HR functions such as maintaining job descriptions, posting roles, tracking applicants, and managing recruitment documentation. 

  • ​Coordinate staff programs, including employee apparel and internal development events and communications.​

Qualifications & Experience

  • ​​Strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • ​Excellent verbal and written communication. 

  • ​Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and general database platforms. 

  • ​Prior experience in an administrative or office support role preferred. 

  • ​Attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.​ 

Physical Demands

  • Able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

  • Physical requirements include but are not limited to stooping, kneeling, bending, standing, squatting/crouching, crawling/kneeling, pushing/pulling, climbing (ladders), reaching above the shoulders, lifting of up to 25lbs.
