Homeschool Workshop: Pumpkins

Discover the science, history, and agriculture of pumpkins while exploring how Wisconsin farmers grow one of the state's favorite fall crops! In this engaging, hands-on homeschool workshop, students will dive deep into the pumpkin life cycle, cultivation practices, and fun agricultural facts. Young learners will connect science and farming through interactive activities and wrap up the afternoon by creating a festive seasonal snack to enjoy during class.

DETAILS

  • Cost: $15 per learner | Members save 10%

  • Audience: Ages 6–8 & Ages 9–12 (Two separate age-tailored tracks available)

  • Includes: Interactive agricultural lessons, hands-on pumpkin science activities, festive seasonal snack creation, and exhibit access for participating students.

  • Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 30, 2026

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Pumpkin Science & Agriculture: Learn how Wisconsin farmers plant, grow, and harvest one of autumn's most iconic crops.

  • Hands-On STEM Learning: Explore the pumpkin life cycle and farming cultivation practices through interactive, age-appropriate activities.

  • Festive Culinary Snack: Prepare and enjoy a delicious, seasonal fall snack right in the classroom.

  • Age-Tailored Groups: Students will participate in activities specifically structured for their age bracket (Ages 6–8 or Ages 9–12) for maximum engagement.

  • Exhibit Access: Participating children receive access to explore our hands-on exhibit spaces during the workshop.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

  • Classroom Policy: To foster an optimal learning environment, we kindly request that parents remain outside the classroom during the workshop. Drop-off is permitted for parents who complete the required drop-off form at check-in. Parents are also welcome to stay on-site at the center during the event.

  • Exhibit Admission: Admission to the exhibits is included for participating students only. Parents and non-participating siblings wishing to explore the exhibit areas must purchase general admission tickets.
