Girl Scout Mechanical Engineering: Balloon Car Badge Workshop

  • Food + Farm Exploration Center 3400 Innovation Drive Plover, WI 54467 USA (map)

Ready, set, race! Join us at Food + Farm Exploration Center for a hands-on STEM badge workshop hosted in partnership with Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes (GSNWGL).

In this exciting engineering challenge, Girl Scouts will discover how engineers use creativity and problem-solving to design machines that move. Scouts will build and test their own balloon-powered cars while exploring the science of forces, motion, friction, and energy—and see how these principles apply to modern agricultural equipment and farm machinery! Through fun design challenges and teamwork, girls will test, troubleshoot, and improve their vehicles to earn their Mechanical Engineering: Balloon Car Badge. No prior engineering experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment!

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Food + Farm Exploration Center is dedicated to cultivating curiosity and connecting young minds to the innovation, technology, and focus crops shaping the future of agriculture.
