Marketing Associate (Part Time)

Organization Overview

Food + Farm Exploration Center (F+FEC), in partnership with Farming for the Future Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating current and future generations about agricultural innovation and sustainability. Located in Plover, Wisconsin, F+FEC aims to deepen the understanding of modern agriculture, promote agricultural literacy, and foster connections between farmers and consumers. By creating a space for learning and engagement, F+FEC provides an opportunity for people to explore the world of agriculture and better understand the origins of their food.

Position Overview

The Marketing Associate is a multifaceted creative lead responsible for the day-to-day execution of visual content and brand storytelling at the Food + Farm Exploration Center. This role focuses on high-impact production—designing professional marketing assets, drafting engaging and mission-aligned copy, managing website updates, and capturing the energy of the Center through photo and video.

Working closely with internal teams, the Marketing Associate ensures that the Center’s digital presence and on-site visitor experience are cohesive, innovative, and reflective of our mission. This role plays a key part in driving attendance, strengthening community engagement, and elevating the overall brand.

This is a part-time position, working approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule is flexible during weekdays, with occasional evening and weekend hours required to support events and program coverage. This position offers a hybrid schedule, with a mix of on-site and remote work.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Creative Content Production: Design eye-catching digital and print assets (social graphics, environmental signage, flyers, and ads) that adhere to graphic design best practices and align with established brand standards. 

  • Omnichannel Consistency: Ensure a cohesive brand "look and feel" across all touchpoints, ensuring the digital narrative matches the physical in-center visitor experience. 

  • Digital Channel Management: Maintain and update the Center’s website (adding events, blogs, etc.) and contribute to the daily cadence of social media platforms. 

  • Copywriting & Storytelling: Draft compelling copy for newsletters, social media posts, website updates and signage that highlight our mission of agricultural innovation. 

  • Multimedia Capture: Serve as the "on-the-ground" creator by capturing high-quality photography and short-form video (Reels) during daily operations and special events. 

  • Cross-Departmental Support: Act as the creative bridge across departments to ensure their programs are promoted effectively and professionally. 

  • Brand Stewardship: Ensure all communications reflect the inclusive, welcoming, and educational mission of Food + Farm Exploration Center while strictly following organizational brand guidelines. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Design Proficiency: Strong command of graphic design fundamentals (typography, layout, color theory, and hierarchy) with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or advanced Canva skills. 

  • Technical Savvy: Experience managing website content management system (e.g., Squarespace or similar) and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp). 

  • Social Media Native: Deep understanding of Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, including trends and scheduling tools. 

  • Visual Skills: Basic photography and video editing skills for quick-turnaround social content. 

  • Writing Excellence: Strong ability to pivot voice between educational, promotional, and professional styles. 

  • Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple "moving parts" in a fast-paced, non-profit environment. 

  • Availability: Cccasional evening and weekend hours required to support events and program coverage

Physical Demands

  • Able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

  • Physical requirements include but are not limited to stooping, kneeling, bending, standing, squatting/crouching, crawling/kneeling, pushing/pulling, climbing (ladders), reaching above the shoulders, lifting of up to 50lbs.
