Organization Overview
Food + Farm Exploration Center (F+FEC), in partnership with Farming for the Future Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating current and future generations about agricultural innovation and sustainability. Located in Plover, Wisconsin, F+FEC aims to deepen the understanding of modern agriculture, promote agricultural literacy, and foster connections between farmers and consumers. By creating a space for learning and engagement, F+FEC provides an opportunity for people to explore the world of agriculture and better understand the origins of their food.
Position Overview
The part-time Kitchen Utility/Dishwasher plays a critical support role in the daily operations of the catering kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen equipment, service ware, and work areas. This position ensures compliance with food safety and sanitation standards while supporting culinary and event teams before, during, and after food production and service. This role contributes directly to operational efficiency, food safety, and the overall success of catering events.
Essential Responsibilities
Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, cookware, and utensils
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, work surfaces, and waste areas
Support catering operations by assisting with food preparation, buffet setup and restocking, and event setup and teardown
Provide food preparation and event support for birthday parties on weekends, as needed
Receive deliveries and ensure proper storage of food and supplies
Pick up and transport supplies as required
Support chefs and catering staff with kitchen setup, breakdown, and general operational tasks
Qualifications & Experience
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if supply pickup or delivery support is required).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment with attention to detail
Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift/move supplies as needed
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Entry-level candidates welcome; on-the-job training provided.
Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is helpful but not required.
Physical Demands
Able to stand and sit for long periods of time.
Physical requirements include but are not limited to stooping, kneeling, bending, standing, squatting/crouching, crawling/kneeling, pushing/pulling, climbing (ladders), reaching above the shoulders, lifting of up to 75lbs.
