Event Service Manager (Full-Time)

Organization Overview

Food + Farm Exploration Center (F+FEC), in partnership with Farming for the Future Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating current and future generations about agricultural innovation and sustainability. Located in Plover, Wisconsin, F+FEC aims to deepen the understanding of modern agriculture, promote agricultural literacy, and foster connections between farmers and consumers. Position Overview

The Event Services Manager is a full-time, salaried position responsible for leading the successful execution of assigned events by overseeing front-of-house operations, supervising Event Attendants, and serving as the primary on-site contact for clients and guests. This position ensures events are delivered with exceptional service, attention to detail, and alignment with Food + Farm Exploration Center standards. The Event Services Manager collaborates closely with the Culinary & Events Director, Event Sales team, and internal departments to coordinate event logistics, support operational excellence, and create memorable guest experiences. This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, based on scheduled events and organizational needs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of assigned events from setup through breakdown, ensuring event details, timelines, and service standards are successfully delivered.

  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for event hosts, welcoming clients, assisting with arrival and setup needs, coordinating logistics, responding to requests, and ensuring a seamless event experience.

  • Partner with Event Sales Managers to transition events from planning to execution, ensuring Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), client expectations, and operational details are clearly communicated and fulfilled.

  • Oversee front-of-house event operations, including room setup, guest service, food and beverage coordination, and event logistics in alignment with organizational standards.

  • Coordinate with internal departments, including Culinary, Operations, Guest Services, Education, and other teams, to support successful event execution.

  • Provide leadership and direction to Event Attendants by assigning responsibilities, setting expectations, coaching staff, and ensuring consistent service standards.

  • Oversee event staff scheduling, training, onboarding, and performance feedback to promote team development and operational excellence.

  • Participate in recruiting and hiring Event Attendants as needed.

  • Address client questions, concerns, and unexpected situations professionally while identifying solutions and maintaining a positive guest experience.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, event procedures, and health and safety standards.

  • Maintain organized event spaces, equipment, and supplies to support efficient event operations.

  • Support continuous improvement of event procedures, offerings, and guest experiences in collaboration with Culinary & Events leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate degree in hospitality, event management, business, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in event operations, hospitality, customer service, or a related field.

  • Experience supervising, training, or leading staff in a service-oriented environment.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service mindset.

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused during changing event conditions.

  • Experience with food and beverage service, event setup, or venue operations preferred.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and external clients.

  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and willingness to learn organizational software platforms.

Physical Demands

  • Able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

  • Physical requirements include but are not limited to stooping, kneeling, bending, standing, squatting/crouching, crawling/kneeling, pushing/pulling, climbing (ladders), reaching above the shoulders, lifting of up to ​​50lbs. 

  • Frequent standing, walking, and mobility around event spaces.

  • The annual salary range for this position starts at $50,000 per year plus bonus opportunities.
