Event Sales Manager (Full-Time)

Organization Overview

Food + Farm Exploration Center (F+FEC), in partnership with Farming for the Future Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating current and future generations about agricultural innovation and sustainability. Located in Plover, Wisconsin, F+FEC aims to deepen the understanding of modern agriculture, promote agricultural literacy, and foster connections between farmers and consumers. By creating a space for learning and engagement, F+FEC provides an opportunity for people to explore the world of agriculture and better understand the origins of their food.

Position Overview

The Events Sales Manager is responsible for driving event revenue through facility rentals, catering, and food and beverage sales at the Food + Farm Exploration Center. This full-time role builds relationships with prospective and returning clients, generates new business opportunities, and guides clients through the sales and planning process from initial inquiry to event completion. Working closely with internal teams, the Events Sales Manager helps deliver exceptional event experiences that support the Center's mission, strengthen community connections, and contribute to organizational growth.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Drive event sales by generating leads, building relationships, conducting client consultations, and securing bookings for corporate, social, nonprofit, and community events.

  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through networking, referrals, community engagement, and proactive business development efforts.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event planning process, delivering exceptional customer service and a seamless experience from inquiry through event completion.

  • Prepare event proposals, contracts, and pricing while ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate successful event execution and support organizational revenue goals.

  • Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, trade shows, and outreach activities to increase visibility and generate new business.

  • Maintain accurate client records, sales activity, and forecasting information using CRM and event management systems.

  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative workplace culture while supporting the mission and guest experience of the Food + Farm Exploration Center.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in event sales, hospitality, event management, venue management, catering, customer service, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, prospects, referral partners, and community stakeholders.

  • Strong sales, customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and client accounts in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including experience managing contracts, event documentation, and client communications.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for networking, community outreach, and business development activities.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on event and organizational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with business development, prospecting, lead generation, outbound sales, or account management.

  • Experience using CRM, event management, or catering software.

  • Experience preparing proposals, event pricing, and contracts.

  • Knowledge of hospitality operations, food and beverage service, event planning, or banquet operations.

  • Experience representing an organization at networking events, trade shows, community events, or other business development activities.

Physical Demands

  • Able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

  • Physical requirements include but are not limited to stooping, kneeling, bending, standing, squatting/crouching, crawling/kneeling, pushing/pulling, climbing (ladders), reaching above the shoulders, lifting of up to ​​50lbs. 

  • Frequent standing, walking, and mobility around event spaces.

Food + Farm Exploration Center Commitments

  • The annual salary range for this position starts at $55,000 per year plus bonus opportunities.

  • Paid time off (PTO)
