Food + Farm Exploration Center Featured on John McGivern’s Main Streets

It is a milestone for any Wisconsin community to see its story told through the lens of John McGivern’s Main Streets. Recently, the spotlight turned toward Stevens Point and Plover, showcasing the unique blend of tradition and modern innovation that defines our region. Food + Farm Exploration Center was honored to be featured in this episode, representing the future of agricultural education and STEM learning in Central Wisconsin.

The episode serves as a vibrant showcase of the people and places that make our area a premier destination for residents and travelers alike.

Behind the Scenes: Growing Curiosity in Plover

During the filming, the Main Streets crew explored how Food + Farm Exploration Center transforms curiosity into agricultural literacy. Since our physical facility opened in 2023, we have become a hub for hands-on learning, featuring:

  • 61 Interactive Exhibits: Immersive experiences that explain the science, technology, and people behind our food systems.

  • Four Acres of Demonstration Fields: A living laboratory where visitors can see Wisconsin crops growing in real-time.

  • The Colorful Plate Café: A community gathering space focused on local flavors and seasonal ingredients.

  • Engaging Events: From cooking classes and wine dinners to U-Pick Harvest Days, we offer a variety of ways for guests to reconnect with the journey from field to fork.

John McGivern’s visit highlighted our mission to connect every individual to the world of agriculture, proving that even as a newer institution, our roots in this community run deep.
